Farmers Carry:
200 m, hold on. 🏋️

Station 6 is 200 m carrying two kettlebells — 2×16 kg in Open Women, 2×24 kg in Open Men and Pro Women, 2×32 kg in Pro Men. By the time you reach it you have run 6 km and done five stations. The load isn't the problem. The handle is.

🎯 What actually matters in the carry

💡 You are allowed to put the kettlebells down to rest — they just must not move forward. Setting them down costs you a second; dropping them short of the line costs you a penalty.

🏆 Buying kettlebells for HYROX

You need two of the same weight, and you need to actually train the carry — not just own the bells. Competition-style kettlebells have wider, smoother handles than cast ones, which matters when the weight is fixed and the only variable is your grip.

LoadNotes
Open Women2 × 16 kgAlso the Pro Women sled-pull and lunge weight class
Open Men / Pro Women2 × 24 kgThe most common training pair to own
Pro Men2 × 32 kgCompetition bells rarely go above 32 kg

If you only buy one pair, buy 2 × 24 kg: it covers Open Men and Pro Women at race weight, and a 16 kg pair built from the same mould is what Open Women race on. See how kettlebells score against the rest of the kit on the lafitness Score.
